I really can't remember when this thing get started. But all I know is people are getting crazy about it recently.
With lots and lots new applications, this thing can really kill time. Many of them are quite interesting, fancy and creative despite the fact they are kind of stupid and meaningless.
Why are people using facebook? What facebook was designed for and why originally?
If it is designed for killing time, it is successful. But if it is designed for connecting people allowing people to have real human connection, I have doubt about its effectiveness.
I do find old friends and schoolmates on facebook, but beside a greeting on the wall, what eles?
To me, facebook only let me know whether my friend is still using computer or not. If they are using it, they are still alive. But if one day I die and no longer can I update my facebook, I will only be another name on my friends' list, and so are they.
